Facilitated by musicians Jack & Soorya Ray Resels and friends, this will be a time of playful celebration to lift hearts, minds, and spirit through singing simple chants for all to sing.

Looking forward to chanting our hearts open together with you. The joy of singing in community is healing.

David Graff Band Album Release Show @ Bowen Island Legion Branch 150
Mar 9 @ 8:00 pm – 11:45 pm

David Graff BandSupposed to Fly album release concert
with special guests Murfitt & Main with Friends

David Graff, with a voice that feels like a blend of Tom Petty, Don Henley and Joe Walsh, and some fabulous musicianship from a strong group of side players in his latest radio-friendly release has some finely crafted songs that run the gamut from reflections on life, to cautionary tales about relationships, and favourite trucks. You won’t want to miss this night!

“An old school country cat that gave it a good spin before dropping out for an extended period now comes back as a killer freak folkie that takes Americana to it’s strangest corners (as opposed to it’s darkest ones). You can just hear this being right at home in a dive bar full of hipsters.” ~ Midwest Records

“Indeed, it is his singing, full of character and experience – a distinctive storyteller’s voice, that is the most notable aspect of this new release. His vocal style is gritty and emotional, with a good range and an ear for a catchy, sometimes unexpected melody.” ~ Americana UK

Murfitt & Main’s music features heartbreak, honky-tonks, whiskey, unions, religion, Canadiana and more.  Alongside their sterling backup band, they plumb the depths of country, bluegrass, Americana, and western swing, playing home-made songs steeped in the living tradition of roots music. Visit their website to sample some tunes.

Sand, Water and Sky • artist Mumtaz Bandali @ Gallery @ Cove Commons
Mar 20 @ 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

Mumtaz Bandali’s work is deeply influenced by her affinity to nature, life experiences, and the beauty found in her surroundings. Mumtaz is an avid traveller and always loves admiring landscapes, flowers, lakes, trees and scenery in the different places she visits. In early 1991, after moving from East Africa to Canada, she decided to take a watercolour class in Vancouver; her love and passion for painting grew from that moment on.

For years, Mumtaz primarily enjoyed working with watercolours and has since evolved into painting with acrylics. Mumtaz captures the essence of rural landscapes, and paints primarily with elemental earth tones. Largely known for her sophisticated landscapes, sunsets, lakes, and florals, she has more recently been inspired by the complexity and beauty of abstracts. She strives to captivate viewers with her inspiration of the wonders of nature and its simple yet complex colours.

Sand, Water and Sky • artist Mumtaz Bandali @ Gallery @ Cove Commons
Feb 27 @ 10:00 am – 4:00 pm

Mar 25 @ 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
